What Causes Heart Burn,vomiting And Swollen Throat After Vodka Intake?

hello, i barely smoke, 2/daily, lethargic, crusted eyes in the am, gag, and throw up, have been drinking vodka, in large amounts. cannot keep most food or carrot juice down. chest burns inside and swelling in my throat. feel like i am suffocating sometimes.

alcohol is pretty irritating to the GI tract. Then, it also lowers several protective reflexes including the reflex that keeps food and liquids from going down the wrong way and into the lungs. Also, just the volume of alcohol can distend the stomach and cause the alcohol to burp up and go into the lungs.
Hope this helps. Not drinking within 2 hrs of lying down would also help.
