What Causes Heart Enlargement And Is It Safe To Take Traim, Vitamin D And Potassium Supplement For My Heart Condition?
Hi, I need to ask about my heart enlargement and I am 63 years old. I have been on Traim/HCTZ med.,vitamin D 1000 mg., Calcium 600 mg/vitamin D 200mg., potassium supplement, and Alive women over 50 multivitamin a day..Are those safe for my heart condition ?

Heart enlargement(notably left ventiricular hypertrophy) is a compensatory mechanism during hypertensive heart disease.
But heart enlargement is seen and with increasing age.
Heart enlargement may be stopped from the use of proper antihypertensive drugs.
You should use your treatment as prescribed from your doctor because they do not interfere with heart enlargement but HCTZ can stop it.
