Hello, I was bitten by a tick when I was 8 years old. By the time I was 9 years old I could walk because my left leg (where the bite occurred) was stuck in a bent position and I had nose bleeds that were so bad I was given a basin not tissues. Eventually I was diagnosed with a grade 1 heart murmur and Rheumatic Fever + I was anemic. Spent a year in St. Frances Hospital and was fine when I left even though I still had the diseases. In my 40 s I found I had Lupus, and as time passed I had more and more autoimmune diseases. Now I m 71, Steroids gave me diabetes 2, NSAIDS gave me psoriasis and vitiligo, I try to be very careful about the scripts I accept. Latest testing found I have atrophic gastritis due to inflammation and iron deficiency. I also have inflammation in my eyes and use Restasis for it. So, my question is this, is all of this autoimmune mess caused by that tic bite all those years ago? And what can I do to stop inflammation without using steroids?
