What Causes Heart Palpations, Sweating, Increased BP And Dizziness While On Hydrocodone?

I have been taking hydrocodone 10/325 for a lower lumbar injury sustained in a MVA (torn disk). I have developed heart palpations, sweating, increased blood pressure, shaking, dizziness, and nausea as of late after taking the prescribed dose. Is this a normal reaction?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have heart palpations, sweating, increased BP and dizziness while on Hydrocodone. Well Hydrocodone is known to cause chest discomfort and chest pain as its side effects , but in your case the symptoms are pointing towards more serious cardiac problem . I would suggest you to consult cardiologist to rule out more serious condition . Doctor may order ECG , TMT along with complete blood profile and take history . Doctor may prescribe sedative , betablockers , frusamide or doctor may also order angiography . For now stay calm and take proper rest .
