What Causes Heart Palpitation?

I am 19 years of age and two days ago I woke up and felt my heart beating fast like I had a bad dream. But then it completely stopped then beat 1 hard time almost like it was having trouble pumping, it is happening very commonly now, almost every other minute, could this be life threatening

After going through your medical query I understand your concern & I would like to tell you that heart beat is ever changing phenomena depending on your physical activity, emotional stress or anxiety and physiological changes. Your symptoms are predominantly of anxiety and fear which needs not to be worried about . If you are experiencing fast heart rate frequently then you can take some anxiolytics.

Hi,

Anxiety and excitement can cause abnormal and rapid heart rate.
As you are experiencing the same symptoms repeatedly, it is better to get evaluated. Consult a cardiologist and get evaluated. Serial ECG monitoring is required.
