What Causes Heart Palpitations After Undergoing Ablation?

Hi I wonder if you can help me. I've just my 2nd ablation this week as I was getting pretty bad palitations, enough to send me to hospital but the surgeons during my last operation said that they couldn't find anything wrong! With the 1st operation my surgeon couldn't complete the surgery due to some reason I cannot remember but more or less said what he's done should work. Are strong palpitations normal after this kind of operation? I'm 39, female and of slim build

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

After going through your medical query I understand your concern & I would like to tell you that in radio frequency ablation treatment for reentry tachycardia , heart rate triggering points are burned but it's not possible to destroy them all as they can be too much in quantity but your symptoms decreases with that and for rest of the symptoms you need a medicine administration. Kindly consult your treating Electrophysiologist/Cardiologist for further management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
