What Causes Heart Palpitations And Pounding Heart Beat After Eating?
Went to ER this past Tuesday for heart palpitations and upset stomach, they did blood work and ekg, all tests were negative for heart attack, they gave me Nasea medication for the stomach, I'm 42, never smoked, exercise regularly, for the past week my heart beats really hard after eating and walking up and down stairs I'm supposed to see my primary dr on Monday but this is driving me crazy
Hello, Welcome to HCM. I understand your concern. Palpitations may be due to increased blood pressure, some kind of emotional or physical stimuli or stress. It's good that you are going to see your GP in short time. Beta-blocker drugs like carvedilol is highly effective in controlling symptoms of palpitation due to anxiety and high blood pressure. And I hope your doctor will suggest you this kind of treatment after evaluation. Till you see your doctor, please try to relax yourself. Avoid too much exertion. Avoid alcohol, coffee, tea, cola drinks eta. Involve yourself in activities that help to keep away from stress. Do some yoga & meditation as well. Hope this will be helpful. Thanks for using HCM. Take care.
