About 2 days ago, I got upset and begin crying. As I tried to hold back the tears, I felt my chest get tight and it was very difficult to breathe. I was also gasping for air. Also, very often I have heart palpations and shortness of breathe. Is this an anxiety attack?

Dear I can understand your concern . You have not mentioned your age and sex..and whether you are diagnosed with any illness taking any medicine or not..It may be because of panic attacks a form of anxiety we can say..or more seriously it may be feature of heart or lung problems . We need complete history associated features and examination to confirm the diagnosis . On the basis of information you have provided we can't say anything for sure . So you go to your physician discuss about all this. Get few work ups done to reach the diagnosis so that timely management can be done..hope this will help .
