What Causes Heart Palpitations, Excessive Sweating, Chest Pain And Arm Numbness?

I am a 51year old female. I m on BP meds. 100mg Atenelol,50mg of sironilactone,12.5of hctz.and 20mg of lisinopril. Recently I have had 2 episodes where my heart rate went to160 and I began sweating chest pain and my whole left arm went numb. My echo was OK so they decided it was stress and gave Rx for propranolol. Should I be getting a second opinion?

Hi,

You need a second opinion from a cardiologist. You have had an episode of arrhythmia that is nothing but rhythm disturbances. Echo may be normal since it can only identify structural abnormalities only. Continuous heart rate monitoring is available nowadays. You can have it and consult a cardiologist to prevent same episodes in the future.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rajmohan, Pediatrician
