What Causes Heart Palpitations In A Person With Anxiety?

I have been having palpitations recently. I used to get them often when I abused vyvanse and adderol, but they diminished a week or so when I refused to take stimulants anymore (2 years ago). I have been working out for 3 months 5 days a week, but the palpitations have come back. I am only 24 years old, weigh 220lbs, and have no prior harmful medical history. I am 6 1 and in healthy shape. I understand I should get an ECG, but I can t afford the E.R. Bill. Lastly, I have frequent paranoia/anxiety induced by simply socializing with another individual. These side effects are more severe the more people I am around.

Psychologist 's  Response
Hello,

Nervousness or Anxiety disorders are a category of mental disorders characterized by feelings of anxiety and fear, where anxiety is a worry about future events and fear is a reaction to current events.

These feelings may cause physical symptoms, such as a racing heart and shakiness.

There are a number of anxiety disorders: including generalized anxiety disorder, a specific phobia, social anxiety disorder, separation anxiety disorder, agoraphobia, and panic disorder among others.

While each has its own characteristics and symptoms, they all include symptoms of anxiety.

Anxiety medicines alone cannot cure anxiety disorders mainly because medicines do not alter behavior. Behavior change and Continuous practice of the changed behavior cure anxiety.

I suggest anxiety education, progressive counseling and progressive psychotherapy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
