What Causes Heart Palpitations While Taking Etizolam And Brotizolam?

I am taking .5 of etizolam ang .25 of brotizolam since mid August. I was so worried that I will be addicted that I started taking half ( I cut it in half) of brotizolam since 6/1 then started taking only etizolam this 7/4.i want to taper my etizolam consumption as early as possible.can you give me the best way to do it?i am sleeping ok since I started tapering my medicines but still whenever I go to sleep I canhear my heart palpitations in my ears but I was able to sleep though.during the night I wake up 2-3 times but I fall asleep again.with this situation can I taper my etizolam consumption by half ( again cutting it in half) this week?i am scheduled to have counselling next Saturday my first time.do I have to wait for it before tapering?

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. The doses of drugs you are taking are not very high so it would be easier to stop these drugs. As you are taking two similar drugs so first step should be to stop using one tablet and continue to take other. I'd advise you to stop taking Brotizolam first and if anxiety increased you can take slightly increased doses of Etizolam. Once you become stable on Etizolam then you can reduce the doses of this drug gradually. So instead of Etizolam I'd advise you to reduce the doses of Brotizolam.

If anxiety or palpitations increase in severity then drugs like Gabapentin or Pregabalin can help. Consult your psychiatrist for prescription of these drugs.

Thanks, Hope this helps you. Take care
