Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband is 52 years old, in good health. He is experiencing what he calls heart palpitations . His heart races and then slows to a normal pace. This has happened on and off throughout the day today, but he just told me now. Should we go to the Emergency room?
If he feels very sick when he has symptoms, I would advise him to refer to ER when he has symptoms. If his complaints are not severe, I would advise him to see a cardiologist, to perform ECG, also I think there may be a need for holter monitoring, which is an examination, when 24 hour ECG is recorded. With holter monitoring you doctor can detect what is the cause of your husband's complaints.
Hope I could help you
Wishing a good health to your husband
