Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had heart palpitations for years. No apparent cause and no triggers just a daily thing. I am a 36 yo female . No medical problems. Heart is healthy, blood pressure normal..... I have a strong family history of heart disease , epilepsy, and strokes at early age (30 s) My cardiologist put me on low dose prevastatin as well as low dose asprin as a precaution for stoke prevention. Since I have been taking the meds I have noticed a great reduction in the palps. If I forget to take it for a couple of days they return with a vengeance . Considering neither drug is an anti arrhythmic why/ how does this occur?
Thank you for the questions. In some individuals who get frequently stressed there is release of adrenaline due to anxiety, stress ,fear which may cause it. Also get your hemoglobn level tested to rule out anemia, which is also a cause in women sometimesi would like to suggest clonazipam 0.25 mg daily at bed time
