What Causes Heart To Beat Hard With Shortness Of Breath?

This happens all the time and it doesnt matter what im doing, but my heart will beat really hard once, then stop for 1 or 2 seconds, then beat really hard again once, than be back to normal. I have a little shortness of breath during this also. Im just wondering if its something i should be worries about? Heart disease does run in my family, so maybe i should go see a doctor. Also, i am only 17

Hi,

If this is the abnormal feeling of heartbeat then it has to check out for heart disease and it can not be neglected.

Of course at the age of just 17 years, it can be due to some anxiety and stress or nonspecific feeling. But with the breathing difficulty, it may be ruled out for some congenital heart disease and EKG is the option it is most advisable.
