What Causes Heartburn After Taking Omeprazole?

I had a scope of my stomach this past week and they found a hiatal hernia among other things such as polyps in the stomach which probably are caused by 20 some years of Omeprazole and antacids. I have not had much heartburn since the medications but wonder about surgery and eliminating Omeprazole?

Hello,

If you are symptomatic you can opt for surgical repair. Consult a gastroenterologist and get evaluated. You can opt for various procedures like fundo plication.
