Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hello, within the last couple of days, I have been getting a burst of heat that runs above my right ankle bone and runs up along the fibula. the heat only lasts a few seconds, but seems to be occurring more frequently, it does not cause any pain, it s just a burst of heat. any advise?
Please get below mentioned conditions ruled out. First is varicosities of veins in your legs (prominent, dilated and tortuous veins over leg, thigh etc.). If there is any nerve damage or impingement then also you can develop burning sensation where the nerve gets trapped or pinched during its course from spine.
You need to get it ruled out by nerve conduction study and/or MRI. You also would need to get peripheral neuropathy(which have many reasons like vitamin deficiency, damage due to a systemic disease like diabetes or hypertension etc.) ruled out by your treating physician.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
