What Causes Heat Feeling Throughout The Body?

Participated in a mud run today. Fell in water and got a huge gash In my shin. I was advised to get a tetanus shot which I haven t been able to yet. I was given stitches. Now my body is on fire, but my hands and feet are cold. Could it be an infection? Is this normal?

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. Tetanus is an infection caused by bacteria called Clostridium tetani. Tetanus bacteria are everywhere in the environment, including soil, dust and manure. The incubation period – time from exposure to illness – is usually 3–21 days (average 10 days).

Tetanus symptoms include:
Headache
Jaw cramping
Sudden, involuntary muscle tightening – often in the stomach (muscle spasms)
Painful muscle stiffness all over the body
Trouble swallowing
Jerking or staring (seizures)
Fever and sweating
High blood pressure and fast heart rate

With the current symptoms, your problem may not be tetanus. But you should get the tetanus shot immediately and consult a surgeon.
