What Causes Heat Sensation On Ears While On Clindamycin And Lamictal?

Hello, I am experiencing a heat sensation in my outer ears. I am taking the following medications: Lithium, Lamictal, Seroquel - for bipolar disorder. I have been taking these medications for several months and have never had this ear condition during that time. I am taking Pilocarpene for dry mouth. I am using the topical antibiotic Clinomycin for acne. Tonight I used a new moisturizer on my face but not on my ears. I am not having this heat on my face. Do you know what it might be? I only have heat. No burning, tingling, or itching. Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Hot ears can be a result of hormonal changes, such as those caused by the medication. A hot flash can make you feel warm all over. Symptoms generally diminish over time so you should not be worried.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
