What Causes Heaviness And Pain In Head With Vomiting?
Hi Doc! I am 43 years old and I am experiencing heaviness at the back portion of my head continuously. Prior to this, I had excruciating pain in my head and started vomiting. I threw-up 4 times. Because of this, my BP shoot upt to 179/90. I was given analgesic by the Dr. I consulted but they cannot point out the cause of my pain. After that incident, the heaviness in my head persist until now though no more vomiting. While the pain is tolerable, the discomfort gets into my daily routine. Please advise. Thanks! ----Maricelle---
Thank you for your question on HCM! I appreciate your concern.
I think that your headaches may be related to a possible raised intracranial pressure or just high blood pressure.
I recommend you to consult with a neurologist for a careful examination for neurological signs. I would also advise you to perform some tests : -regularly monitor your blood pressure ( an ambulatory 24 hours blood pressure monitoring would help) -routine blood tests for inflammation -a brain CT scan may be necessary to exclude a possible intracranial lesion.
Hope to have been helpful!
Greetings! Dr. Aida
