What Causes Heaviness Behind Knees While Having Osteoarthritis?
I have right lateral osteo-arthritis, bone on bone. My question is regarding pain and a feeling of heaviness behind my right knee. I also wear an unloader brace on my right knee when golfing or walking a long distance. Any suggestions? Baker s cyst? If so, what are the recommendations?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Baker's cyst is usually palpable on back of knee. If you don't have such palpable mass then it can be due to osteoarthritis only most likely. Malalignment of weight bearing can cause such pain. Physiotherapy and muscle strengthening exercises will be helpful. Local injection of viscous agents also will be helpful. A consultation with an orthopedician is well appreciated. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
