What Causes Heaviness In The Abdomen?
I have gained 30 ponds in less than a month. My stomach is protruding so badly I look as if I m about to give birth, I am post menopausal, so I know I m not pregnant. The swelling starts under my rib cage and it is hard as a rock. My feet just started swelling two days ago. I have trouble swallowing also, I nearly choke every meal. Please tell me what might be wrong with me! Thank you.

You are having a complaint of sudden weight gain problem. Hence you have to rule out intestinal obstruction cause before labelling it as the functional cause.
For that USG abdomen scan should be done for primary work up. According to cause specific treatment given. I suggest you consult a nearby physician for detailed evaluation.
