What Causes Heaviness In The Head After Missing Few Doses Of Citalopram?
I have missed five days of my 20mg citalopram bc mail order forgot to send. My head feels heavy and shaky?? I just got Dr to send some to my pharmacy till I get my mail order. Should I take two or just the regular dosage. Will my head start to feel better rt away after I take med. thank you
Hello, Take your usual dose right away and begin your schedule as normal. As you have found out, never start an antidepressant if you think you might run out when first prescribed, skip a dose or just discontinue.
Tapering down on antidepressants is the safest way to avoid the feelings you are describing right now.
Yes, you will gradually start to feel better from the citalopram withdrawal. Never double up on a dose unless the doc tells you too.
Good Luck!Kathy Shattler, MS,RDN
