What Causes Heaviness In The Legs After Taking Cortisone Injection?

I had a cortisone injection directly in my knee in October of last year. I gained weight although still did my daily exercise and ate healthy. Now I am noticing my legs are heavier. How long is it for this poison to be flushed out of my body completely?

Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

I dont think this is related to your previous steroid shot since symptoms may persist for several weeks but not so long. This may be consequnce of weight gain or there is knee arhritis and consequent instability in legs. It would be good to do EMG and muscle ultrasound and xrays of knee. this will reveal possible issues and then treatment can be planned. Also if both legs swell then kidney or heart problems may be present. In every case, i still odnt hting this is related to Cortisone.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
