What Causes Heaviness In The Vaginal Area During Pregnancy?

My daughter is 6 months pregnant, and feeling a fullness/heaviness in her vaginal area. Not so much in the abdomen area. She is especially sensitive to her body because she delivered her twins at 6 months pregnant. This may be a normal sensation, but she is concerned that it is more serious. No bleeding or cramping, just a feeling of pressure in the vaginal area. Thoughts?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Fullness and heaviness in the vaginal area may be indicative of the preterm labour in which the presenting part of the fetus is entering the pelvis before term.
I would suggest her to get her properly examined and treated accordingly by an OBGYN specialist, so that preterm labour can be detected and prevented, if possible.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
Regards,
Dr Deepti Verma
