What Causes Heavy And Painful Menstruation?

I m having heavy periods and cramps along with it.. I took metal spas but isn t showing the expected results. What should I do? Before 2 months, I had continuous flow for about 25-28 days and doctors suggested me to take pause tablet to stop periods and after that i was on hormonal tablets for a month... After completing those tablets, today is my 4th of periods and I am having heavy flow and severe cramps.

Hi, I think you should go for evaluation first. Get a thyroid profile and prolactin level and a ultrasound done to see uterus and ovaries. These will help in finding the cause of heavy periods. If anything is abnormal, it can be treated. You can take pause tablet now also. If it doesn't work, you can take high dose of progesterone to stop the bleeding. Talk to your doctor regarding this. Hope it helps.
