What Causes Heavy And Painful Periods With Bleeding Mid Cycle?

I have been tired alot lately & am bleeding between periods - I also have been having very heavy & painful periods lately . I'm defiantly not pregnant or have STD ( my Boyf is in the army & I ain't seen him for 5 months & I've been checked in that time)
