What Causes Heavy And Prolonged Menstrual Bleeding Along With Dizziness?

My period was late by 8 days. When i began bleeding it was really light and over time it has changed from light to heavy. I have been bleeding for 17 days. My doctor suggest i wait 3 months and if the bleeding does not stop than get seen. I have been light headed and get extremely hot. What could it be or should i go get seen by a different doctor?

Hi, I think you should take some medicines like Tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding. Also get a pregnancy test done as you had got delayed periods. If positive, consult a gynecologist. If negative, it can be due to some hormonal imbalances or stress. You may need high doses of progesterone to stop the bleeding. Discuss with your doctor regarding this.
