What Causes Heavy Bleeding Along With Clots And Cramps During Menstruation?

I am 48 and my periods are very heavy with clots that are bigger than a silver dollar and they are coming more often and lasting 9 days.. I cramp for 3days really bad and this is effecting me and my job.. I want it all taken out but, 3 years ago my dr told me no. do you think there is hope now?

I share your concerns. I would go along with your doctor, against uterus removal because of following
1 you are approaching menopause, so it is matter of few years or months
2 uterus removal is a major surgery and it will affect your health adversely.
3 this condition can be managed by medicines easily
4 uterus removal affects blood supply of surrounding organs, that affects their functioning (like ovary)

Morever increase in symptom intensity itself indicates approaching menopause. You can take norethisterone 5mg tablet once daily for 10 days for relief from excessive bleeding and tab meftal plus for crampy pain. You can discuss with your doctor about tablet for more information.
