What Causes Heavy Bleeding & Clots During Periods?

Hello dr. I had a d&c on August 28,2014 and the gestational age was determined at 10 weeks and 3 days. I had a previous abortion and suffered from complications namely an infection due to retained tissues( placenta). I had no symptoms until about six weeks post procedure where I was in considerable amount of pain, bleeding heavily and passing clots. This required a follow,up D&c to rid of the whatever is in there. Going back to my recent procedure. I have barely bled, throughout the two weeks. I had a little bit of spotting the day of the procedure. And then it stopped. I had one incident of a gush of blood on the 30th of August. And then nothing until September 12th where I started passing brownish( I m sure it s blood and not discharge) material. I have not passed any clots either. I decided to take a home pregnancy test on the evening of the 15th of September and I couldn t quite tell if it s a pure negative or a faint positive. The vertical line was extremely faint and almost not there. The morning of the 16th I took another test and the faint line was more visible, nonetheless, still,faint. I am concerned as I don t want to go through complications like my previous experience. I cannot go see a doctor where I am now. I was hoping to know when I should be concerned. I am not experiencing any pain,fever, heavy bleeding, cramping or clotting. I am paranoid about having any left over material. How should I proceed from here? Shall I wait for a week before taking another home pregnancy test? Thank you
