What Causes Heavy Bleeding Despite Taking The ECP After Unprotected Intercourse?
Hello, okay so my question is that i just had my period about two weeks ago and on Saturday August 30th i had unprotected sex and my boyfriend ejaculated inside of me. So the next day i took the Take Action emergency contraception pill and since Saturday September 6th i have been bleeding like i am on my period. So i am worried and i don t know if i should take a pregnancy test or not. I am supposed to be making an appointment with the gynecologist soon but i am still a little worried.
Having the emergency pill within 72 hours gives you high protection so you don't have to worry about pregnancy. The bleeding comes from hormonal changes and usage of the pill. The bleeding should stop soon.
If it doesn't in a day or two you should go to hospital.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
