What Causes Heavy Bleeding During The First Month Of Pregnancy?

my daughter has bleed heavily in her first month of pregnancy but scanned baby was growing. she has been told to rest, she now has only a little bit of brown discharge. she is 39yrs and is awaiting results for a intensive blood test where they will tell her if every thing is fine with the embryo. I was wondering if this test will tell more about the embryo s well being, than the aminocestis

hii,any kind of bleeding in pregnancy is called threatened abortion.such patients are at an increased risk of abortion.if the scan shows normally growing baby then its nothing to worry.but yes she should take precautions like bed rest,no lifting heavy weight,no intercourse.she should start taking tab duphaston 10 mg twice a day and inj proluton depot 500 mg i.m once a week.no need for amniocentesis and the blood tests are done to find out the cause for bleeding but will not indicate whether the pregnancy is healthy or not.for that ultrasound scan is the best modality.thanks and take care.
