What Causes Heavy Bleeding From Stitches On Scalp?

On Dec., 8, I fell and struck my head on the door facing. This resulted in 5 stitches to the back of my head. All was fine until Jan 22 when I awoke in the morning to find the pillow soaked in blood. The blood was pouring, we got it almost stopped and it started spewing in 2 places. It was like you had blood in a spray bottle and sprayed against the wall. The Paramedics took me to the hospital and they took 2 stitches in the scalp. The hospital was puzzled. The said possibly my BP elevated to a point that the vessels ruptured but said that was just a guess. Do you have an answer, as to the cause or have you seen this before. I am a 76 year old female with a history of fluctuating BP. Very low to high. As much as over 200 or down to 110. Thank you in advance.

Hi,
It seems that there might be having episode of high blood pressure or during night there might behaving hard impact on the site producing severe bleeding.
There is another possibility of having hematoma during fall and now collected blood might have come out.
Nothing to worry as now stitches are taken.
See that now there should not be any pressure or hard impact over the site.
Go for regular blood pressure checking.
