What Causes Heavy Bleeding With Clots And Severe Cramping?

Hi, Ever since I had my tubal ligation procedure done after giving birth 12/2012, I ve been bleeding heavy with blood clots and cramping really bad. I ve called my Doctor s office to see if they put the tubal clips in. If that was put in, should I have them removed?

Hi there, I have understood your concern and I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

First of all do not panic.

To start with I will suggest you seek prescription support from your treating doctor for Tranexamic acid and Mefenamic acid tablets 3 times a day for 5 days to control the bleeding.
Tablet Regestrone 5 mg twice a day for 20 days.
This will help you to remain bleeding free for 3 weeks or so.

In the meantime please get USG done to know about any structural pathology like fibroids or polyps of uterus as a cause for your bleeding.

I will also suggest you to opt for a healthy diet and regular exercise regimen.
Include more portions of fruits and vegetables and salads in daily diet. Drink plenty of water.
Avoid refined sugars and deep fried foods and bakery products in the diet.
Start on Folic acid and vitamin B 12 and Iron supplements regularly for at least 3 months. This will help to recover from blood loss over last few months.

In my opinion there is no need to remove the clips or bands of tubal ligation surgery.

I hope this answer helps you.
Thanks.
