What Causes Heavy Bleeding With Clots Despite Taking Tranexamic Acid?

Yes I am 47 yrs. of age, and in the past 3 weeks I have been having heavy bleeding not sure if it s early stages of menopause I have seen my doctor and they got me on Tranexamic acid Ta 500mg to help slow my bleeding, I am still bleeding and still have blood clots what should I do as I taking my pills every six hours and there still no change, I have been taking the pills since Friday just gone should I go back to my doctor

Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, even after taking the medicine for stop the bleeding and it is not responding then it is time to see the underlying cause of heavy uterine bleeding, of course it can be due to menopause but it can not be taken as granted, so better to get done the ultrasonography test and bleeding time clotting time, platelet count just to rule out the bleeding disorders hope this information helps.
