What Causes Heavy Bleeding With Cramps After A C Section?

Hi, I had a baby 8 weeks ago via emergency c section. My pp bleeding stopped after a week or 2. Went to brown then yellow then clear and mucusy. However today i have started to bleed quite heavy and had period like pains a few days ago. Could this be my first period back again? I am quite nervous because i hemmoraged after my c section and had to have a blood transfusion. Thanks. Rebecca
