General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, the Novex DS contains Ormeloxifene which is combined oral contraceptive used for control of various uterine disorders including that of abnormal uterine bleeding and others.

* The very well known side effect of Novex DS is prolonged or heavy menses in few case, which is the matter in your case.

Guidelines at present

- stop all drugs mentioned above
- need prescription of tranexamic acid with ethamsylate for aucte control of bleeding
- a minor number of cases do require a surgical procedure of dilatation and curratage or laparoscopic cauterisation of the active uterine bleeder for controlling the bleeding.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
