What Causes Heavy Menstrual Bleeding And Delayed Periods?

Am 40 years old my youngest child is 14 my right my periods have been heavy the past few months a lot of medications for my heart blood thinners Zoloft iron pills anemia have congestive heart failure of coronary artery disease and I had unprotected sex and now I m over a week late on my period could I be in menopause or am I pregnant

Hello,

I think you should do a urine pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy first. If negative, it can be a premenopausal symptom. You can get a FSH level done to see if you are going to attain menopause. Heavy bleeding can be due to blood thinners also. You can take some medicines like Tranexamic Acid to stop the bleeding. Also, get a thyroid profile and prolactin level and an ultrasound done to see uterus and ovaries.
