What Causes Heavy Menstrual Bleeding And Sever Stomach Cramps?

Hi. I had a pregnancy scare about 2 weeks ago. I didn t take a pregnancy test but I had almost all early signs, I had a day of spotting and was late for my period. Then I finally got my period and it was extremely heavy with cramps worst than anything I had ever experienced. Can this be a sign of miscarriage?

Hi,

Since you were late for the periods, it might be possible that you could have conceived. However, later when you got your period, it appears that you could have had a miscarriage as it was preceded with spotting and was heavier than usual with associated cramps.

Kindly take an ultrasound scan and consult Obstetrician for clinical evaluation, to make sure that things are alright following this episode.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran S,
