What Causes Heavy Menstrual Bleeding With History Of DVT?

Hello - I started taking Xarelto in late March for PE/DVT. Last month I had severe menstrual bleeding. Same this month. I have an appointment with OBGYN this week but I m really worried. I ve skipped a few doses of Xarelto per my hemotologist s instructions but that didn t make a difference. I also have Factor V Leiden deficiency. Is my fear irrational or do I have reason to be panicked?

Hello,

Vaginal bleeding can be cause from the side effect of Xarelto and Factor V Leiden deficiency. You should follow up with your PT/INR and check CBC if there is anemia. To rule out other cause you can meet OB/GYN to see if any abnormal in your pelvic and vaginal.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
