Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi im concerned about my period i had my regular period about two weeks ago but i started heavily bleeding again for about four days now and im on birth control so i don t see why i should be bleeding like this and i was hoping you could give me a e some sort of insight as to why
It is suggestive of some underlying problem. Irregular bleeding is the most common side effect of birth control pills. It is especially common during the first three months as your body adjusts to the hormones in the birth control pills. As per the history you seem to be having heavy menstrual bleeding. Hence, I advise you to consult a gynecologist for further evaluation and to rule out any sexually transmitted infection, polyps, fibroids, hormonal disorders such as thyroid disease or cancer of the uterus.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
