What Causes Heavy Menstrual Bleeding?

Hi. I am 19 years old. I am facing a strange problem . When i was 11 i first got my periods . In start i got heavy periods i even once got twice in a month . My mother was so worried she consulted a gynecologist . I got ultrasound and everything was normal it was just because i just got periods 1 year ago so they were like this But the gynecologist we consulted prescribed me Primolute N for 30 days . I took it for 30 dayz and after that next month i got normal periods after taking primolute N i got normal periods for about 4-5 months but just after that my periods delayed, a year passed but not single month, another year passed and for almost 3 yearz i got no periods i went for ultrasound and they still said its normal and just wait.. at the age of 12-13 i took the medicin and till age 15-16 i got no periods so gyenologist prescribed me pronglution and right after taking i got periods.the problem is i only get periods now when i take this medicine once i stop my periods stop too and now i am 19 years old..still have to eat pronglution for periods and after the medicin i get normal regular periods . What should i do? I am just so confused. My recent ultra sound reports said my ovaries are a bit small and thin. And yes last month doctr said me to take Duphastone 2 tabs for 5 days and she said i will get periods after 5 days and on 5th day i need to start pronglution along with clomid once a day ,clomid for 5 days only . but i got no periods and a month passed. Then she said to take pronglutin with clomid and yes now i got periods , i get periods every time with pronglution. Please tell me what to do should i just wait for more month years or just take pronglution and have periods?? How will i get naturally again? Why this happend to me? Now how to get normal? What to do with medicines ?

Hi,

Heavy periods are common women issue and there are many reasons why some women have heavy periods however some or more common than others. These are some common causes include: Hormone problems. Every month, a lining builds up inside your uterus (womb), which you shed during your period. If your hormone levels aren’t balanced, your body can make the lining too thick, which leads to heavy bleeding when you shed the thicker lining. Second, growths in the uterus such as polyps or fibroids are benign (non-cancerous) tumors that grow within the uterus.

While some causes may be easy to treat, others can indicate a serious underlying condition. Whether you notice spotting or heavier bleeding in between periods, it’s important to see your doctor for testing, diagnosis, and treatment options.

Other potential other causes of bleeding include stress, change in medications, miscarriage, vaginal dryness. Your doctor will also likely give you a physical exam, including a pelvic exam and test your hormonal levels. This will show us the exact issue which can be treated then.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
