What Causes Heavy Periods During Menstruation & Brown Spotting?

Hi, I've had the implant in since may last year and have had a few problems with heavy periods for over 2 weeks ever 6-8 weeks but this time i have been brown spotting for 3 days which i have never had before, im a little worried as they has been been so much in the media about implants failing
