What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding After Starting Birth Control Pills?

Started Birth Control pills because my period was 128 days late(not pregnant). Doctor thought it was best to get on some hormonal birth control. I was just starting and about 3 days after taking them I got my cycle. It s been 13 days, heavy, and it won t stop.

Hi,

This long period may be from the excess of the delay of period. Is not normal but you can wait for two more days and if it doesn't stop or doesn't get low go to hospital.

May be progesterone like hormones like Norethisterone may help you stop it. Another possibility is that you have a hormonal insufficiency causing big delay and long periods.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
