What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding During Menstruation?

I was supposed to get my period September 13, 2014. My period has never been late. I got my period September 15. It was extremely heavy and had large blood clots in it. I ve been blessing heavily on and off for 3 days now. It ranges from extremely heavy to spotting. Me and my fiancé has done stuff about right after my last period. I ve been very light headed and very sensitive to smells. I ve gotten a lot of headaches and i get this sharp pain in my lower stomach towards the left on and off. Please help.

Hi, thanks for writing..
I feel it could be a spontaneous abortion.. Get a pregnancy test.. If positive, get a scan done to see for retained products.. If it is present, better get it evacuated or it can cause ongoing heavy bleeding leading to anemia.. If pregnancy test negative, you can take tranexemic acid after consulting your doctor.. Next time if you have heavy bleeding get a scan done to see for any fibroid.. Hope I have answered your query.. Good day..
