What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding, Vomiting And Lightheadedness?

Hi! This morning I woke up fine and came to class like I normally do but then, while I was standing there, I got really light headed and hot and had to run to the bathroom to throw up. I came back and was sweating and everything but was fine after a few minutes. I ve been bleeding heavily for the past few days and before that my period was late by a week or so. Any ideas as to what s wrong with me?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Lightheadedness and vomiting are associated with some abnormality of the central nervous system.
Elevated intracranial pressure can lead to headache followed by vomiting.
A clinical assessment and a CT scan of head will be required to assess the status of brain.
If required CSF examination will also be required to assess the CSF pressure and other parameters of CSF.
Delay in periods or irregular periods are due to menstrual irregularities.
Menstrual irregularities can occur due to various causes like hormonal imbalance, fibroids, or any other abnormality.
I suggest you to consult your gynecologist for the problem of menstrual irregularities and a physician for vomiting and headache.

Thanks and take care
Dr Shailja Puri
