What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding While Having Ovarian Cysts?
Hi. I am 48, two children, mother died of ovarian cancer aged 55. I have 35cm cyst on my only ovary (the other one removed a year ago due to cyst), 15mm endometrial thickness. Blood test and hysteroscopy tested negative for cancer. I have another appointment booked with gynaecologists in January. Now I have been bleeding for a month - some days heavier like a period and some spotting. Since three days ago I started having abdominal pain and back ache. are these a symptoms of hyperplasia? should I go to the doctor urgently and speed up my hospital appointment please?
Hello dear I understand your concern Your symptoms could be due to thick endometrium or rupture of the ovarian cyst. I would suggest to consult the gynecologist as soon as possible to rule out the rupture of the cyst after undergone vaginal examination, USG scan to confirm the cause. Treatment will depend on the specific cause Progesterone shot an Tranexamic acid will help to reduce the bleeding. Tablet meftal saps for the pain Take proper rest, maintain proper pelvic hygiene, eat healthy diet with iron supplements. Hope this may help you
