What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding While On Norethisterone?

Is was on norethindrone ace for several years as I was anemic and this improved with this drug stopped my periods this. This past May my gynecologist felt as I was 53 years old that I was probably now in mental pause so he asked me to stop taking it. I did so. 3 to 4 weeks later I had a heavy. That lasted a week. Then I had nothing for five months. Starting the middle of November I started having light bleeding. I called the gynecologist he told me to go back on the norethindrone ace and I did so. Starting five days ago I have had a very heavy. With clotting. I will call my doctor when the office is open again after the holidays.

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hi

To the best of my knowledge, the bleeding will stop by its own. Bleeding can be treated due to hormonal imbalance, since it contains both Estrogen and Progesterone.

Take Care
