Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding While Taking Cerazette?
Hello!! I had a heavy bleeding with Cerazette for three weeks when I started taking the and then no period at all. Also, I am experiencing some mild cramping in my tummy like at the time when I was pregnant. Is this all normal? What is the best and healthiest pregnancy method according to you opinion?
The medicine you mentioned is mainly used as an oral contraceptive pill which is quite effective but it has some side effects like irregular vaginal bleeding or sudden no menstruation. I would suggest you to see your gynaecologist and talk about it to her as these are considered common side effects that occur initially which might go away with regular use. Your doctor can best advise you on continuing or discontinuing the medicine as per your condition.
OCP is considered quite effective and safe in the prevention of pregnancy if that is what you asked related to pregnancy. There are other methods of contraception available with their pros and cons, as per your convenience you can discuss that with your doctor and opt one. As your doctor knows all the history about you so she can guide you best on this as per your requirement.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar,
