Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Many causes for hiccups like gastrtis, pneumonitis, GERD, respiratory failure, renal failure or liver failure etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Which drug he is taking you have not mentioned??Puffy eyes may suggestive of renal failure. Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care.
