What Causes High BP Along With Enlargement Of Throat?
My b husband went in to the doctor today and he had really high blood pressure, when she looked at his throat she said his throat area was also enlarged but immediately wanted to put him on high blood pressure medication, couldbe hypothyroidism cause high blood pressure if it goes untreated for a long period. He also works as a construction worker, does tons of cardio and doesn t lose any weight

Enlargement of the throat, tightness / stiffness of the neck, jaw pain associated with high BP, may be a warning sign of stroke or developing cardiac problem. Since the blood pressure is high, your husband should take prescription medicines on hypertension. He is suggested to cut on salt intake and maintain blood glucose level. He should be adequately hydrated so that the electrolyte level of the body is maintained.
If obese, he should do 2-3 kms of walking and maintain healthy weight. Give him food cooked in olive oil, avoid spicy oily food. He should take lean meat, small fishes, vegetarian protein. Cut on full fat dairy products, carbs, sugar and trans fat. Avoid addictions if any. He should take well cooked veggies, fruits and whole cereals. He is suggested to get a complete cardiac check up done. Get lipid function tests, urinalysis, stress tests, EKG, Echo, etc., done, so that treatment can be started at the earliest.
